UNEXPECTED LEADERSHIP
Then a moment came that I wasn't prepared for.
In late 2016, after a long season of severe decline coupled with a year previous damage by traumatic leadership,
That night, the only item on the agenda was clear. Vote to close the station after 78 years of service.
Nobody wanted that. There were good people who were worn out and unable to see a future together.
If were were to somehow continue with the few members actively trying, I was unexpectedly asked to step into
leadership as President.
And we started over.
I began speaking life over and into our department. Along with renewed vision and strategic marketing.
Make no mistake, it was not me alone.
But I was the igniter of vision and greater purpose in others.
Something any leader can do.
And this small but incredible team who trusted me and did the hard work, did the impossible together.
Going from some 14 to over 45 members in two years.
